Pastor Bret Cooley was born in 1963 and grew up in southwest Louisiana where he came to know the Lord and was later called to preach at 15 years old. He attended McNeese State University where he received an associate degree and then later attended and graduated from Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas.
Sis. Dedie Cooley was born in 1965 in Kentucky and was raised in southern Indiana. She felt God’s call on her life and attended Jackson College of Ministries where she would later graduate.
After Sis. Cooley assumed a Music Director’s position in Pasadena, Texas, Bro. and Sis. Cooley met each other for the first time in 1987. They were married in November of 1988 in Pasadena. After Bro. Cooley graduated from Texas Bible College in 1990, they moved to Buford, Georgia to begin a Home Missions work.
After the church had been established, they returned to Houston, Texas as Instructors at Texas Bible College. The Cooley’s then moved to Jackson, Mississippi in the summer of 1994 and assumed the roles of Dean of Missions and Dean of Music at Jackson College of Ministries. They labored there for 5 years before accepting the pastorate of the Bryan United Pentecostal Church in Bryan, Texas and pastored there for six years. In April of 2005, Bro. Cooley was asked to serve as President of Texas Bible College after the college was moved to Lufkin, Texas. He served until July, 2014.
He has travelled internationally and nationally teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is an author and much requested speaker on leadership development and training. His wife is also heavily involved in music ministry and travels extensively speaking at conferences and conducting music/choir clinics nationally.
Pastor and Sis. Cooley have two wonderful children. Cherish was born in 2001 and Hunter was born in 2002 in Bryan, Texas.
In November of 2017, God spoke to Bro. Cooley about starting a church in College Station, Texas. In February of 2018, the church was begun and continues today presently located outside of the Bryan/College Station area in a community called Wixon Valley.
